Read the passage.
Recently many people have been using CFLs, which mean compact fluorescent
lamps. These are lamps which produce visible light by fluorescence. This
process happens when the inner wall of the glass tube, which is coated with a
special material, begins to glow. Nevertheless there are several reasons why
the recent usage of CFLs is not a positive development for society. They may
actually do more harm than good.
