2/12剛考完回來... - 英檢

我也是今天考完的

在公館地球村

不過我遇到了很奇怪的鳥事

想跟大家分享一下

在寫閱讀的時候

第一題沒有問題

第二第三題加起來應該要有40分鐘

當我把第二題寫完 跳到第三題的時候

時間從 19.xx 跳成 9.xx 少了10分鐘

我本來以為只是時間顯示錯了 畢竟跳掉10分鐘太扯了

哪知道10分鐘走完 娃 就真的沒了

所以第三題大概剩了5.6題




這時候我馬上起來跟工作人員反映

他們幫我換了電腦 但是沒有甚麼幫助

因為還是沒辦法跳回原來的題目

跟他們解釋狀況 換座位

林林總總又耗了接下來五六題40分鐘裡面的5分鐘

加上當時心裡面的屎都快滿出來了

所以 接下來的閱讀聽力都做得爛爛的

根本沒辦法專心

而且考得比之前低的話 對考生來說 沒有甚麼太大意義

心理已經有點半放棄了



在休息時間 考場人員有跟我說

他們有幫我跟ETS反應

其實說時在他們也滿熱心的 一直跟我解釋

說從來沒有發生過這種狀況

而且我也應該在跳掉10分鐘的時後立即舉手

but if you were me, u would have done the same thing, wouldnt u?

之後想想 考場人員也盡力了

不過我那時候臉一定很賽 有點對不起他們

畢竟下禮拜又要重考一次




考場人員有跟我說

我可以回家寫信跟ETS的人反映

我剛剛回來 爬爬文

好像沒有人發生跟我一樣的事

但是有許多版友分享了他們寫信要退費的經驗

真的很感激!

所以我也寫了一封信給ETS 希望他們可以給我一個交代

Dear ETS:

My name is xxx, ETS ID: 564xxxxx,
a Taiwanese student who just finished the TOEFL exam (Feb/12/2011).
Unfortunately, it was totally not a pleasant experience.

As far as I am concerned, the reading section of the exam is divided into
three parts.
The first part includes one article, lasting for 20 mins,
while the second and third parts include 2 articles each, lasting 40 mins.

It was all normal with my first part in reading section.
However, there was something wrong with the second part.
When I finished answering the first article's questions in the second part,
I clicked the "continue" button to go on to read the next article.
At this moment, my time remaining decreased by 10 mins all of a sudden,
which was supposed to be 19.xx mins, and turned to be 9.xx mins left instead.

I thought it was just a little mistake of showing the time left on the screen,
so I chose to ignore the time shown and continued to answer questions.
Unluckily, the time left turned out to be a "real" and big mistake.
The moment the wrongly presented time ran out,
the computer prohibited me from answering,
so I wasn't able to finish all of the questions in that section.

I notified the staff immediately, the staff thus changed my seat, but that
did not help much.
Moreover, as I was communicating with the staff, trying to tell them what
exactly happened,
5 or 6 mins of the third part's time passed.
Also, I was do deeply saddened and influenced that I couldn't even
concentrate on the following questions, including the listening part,

This is what happened. The staff there told me that they had reported my
situation to you as well.
In addition, I have to schedule another exam next week upon request by my
employer, and that's going to be more expensive.

We all spend money paying for your service,
time and efforts preparing for the TOEFL exams.
All I ask is a reasonable reply and compensation.
Please reply me asap.
