托福成績:94分(讀26聽25說20寫23)
準備時間:六個月~時代補習
這篇分享口說+寫作
[[口說訓練]]
我的口說是用現有補習班的書來訓練,Barron’s跟Longman,把上課教過的例題再拿來練
習講一遍,因為課堂上已經被老師提過重點,所以自己在練的時候就會知道哪裡應該要注
意,會錄音!我覺得經過聽自己講的這個過程可以讓自己進步比較快,因為旁聽者清XD~把
自己拉離變成考官的感覺,審聽發音、聽語調、聽有沒有做情緒變化,最直接的練習方法
是聽幾次CD的專業講法,然後馬上練習講一遍錄起來,比較一下再改進。
當然,偶爾也要把自己錄的音拿給別人聽看看,因為可能有自己沒注意到的口說盲點,我
是都會去補習的時候請班上比較好的同學幫我聽,或是課前、課後找老師聽,老師會給直
接又專業的feedback。
[[口說技巧]]
我的口說不會用到很難的字,我都只講自己有把握的,沒把握我寧可不冒險,怕多講多錯
~補習時老師也提過口說的流暢度很重要,如果講自己沒把握的單字或是片語,我就會有
點支支吾吾口吃,就是沒信心…所以我乾脆放棄炫技改走樸實路線!XD
因為我思路走得比較慢,講口說的時候難免會要停下來想一下,可是又不能就靜音,這樣
會讓考官以為結束了,所以我會講出一些音或句子,讓考官知道我的口說還持續著,例如
ㄟ…/ㄣ…/Let me think~/You know~這些。
托福口說一定要舉例說明,這些例子不能是輕描淡寫或空泛,要夠具體!讓例子變具體的
方法就是加入細節(人名、地名、時間等等),能把例子化作親身經歷那是最好不過。
[[寫作訓練]]
我每個禮拜練習寫兩篇作文,整合、獨立各一篇,都會用打字的方式練習,因為想說考試
也是要打字,不如就早早開始練打字速度~補習老師有教漂亮的文法跟單字,我都會試著
找適當時機寫進文章裡,寫完的文再給老師過目一下,因為有時自己以為用對的文句,在
某些情況下並不全然可以那樣用,像accomplish, finish, complete這三個字看似意思相
同,但它們其實並不完全同義,所以功力不夠作文還是要找人批改,這樣才知道自己有沒
有用對。
[[寫作技巧]]
直接分享我常用的寫作思路架構~
Integrated writing
第一段:寫文章和演講是對立的。
第二~四段:從三方面寫它們如何對立。
第五段:總結,文章和演講的確是對立關係。
The lecturer believes that _____. The author of the passage disagrees,
stating that _____.
The lecturer begins by _____. The author of the article disagrees, stating
that _____.
The lecture then points out that _____. That is to say, _____. The author of
the passage disagrees, stating that _____.
Finally, the lecturer says that _____. That is to say, _____. The author of
the passage states that _____.
另外,補習時老師在課上補充過常用詞彙可以在寫作中做變換,這樣就不會一直在重複寫
同個字,分享如下~
*陳述的詞
state/claim/argue/discuss/mention/talk/indicate/contend(主張)/raise the
issue/demonstrate(證明)/assert(斷言)/present/illustrate(舉例,闡明)/sheds
lights on
*支持的詞
in favor of/speak highly of/praise/glorify/hold a positive attitude
towards/compliment(恭維)
*反對的詞
contradict(反駁)/refute(反駁)/oppose to the writer’s expectation/cast doubt
on(引起對…的懷疑)/dispute(反駁)/contrary to/robust/be not on the same
wavelength with…
Independent writing
第一段:表明立場和觀點。
第二~四段:從三方面支持我的立場。
第五段:總結,再度重申我的立場。
Some people prefer to A, others believe B. Nowadays some may hold the opinion
that ________, but others have a negative attitude. As far as I am concerned,
I agree/disagree that ________. MY arguments for this point are listed as
follows.
One of the primary causes is that _________. Examples ________.
But there is a further more subtle point we must consider. Examples ________.
What is more_______. Examples _______.
General speaking, __________. Recognizing the fact that ________ should drive
us to conclude that ______.
