有哪位大大可以解釋raise 和grow up的差別嗎
Mr.Fong was born in Hong Kong, but he was grown up in Vancouver.
答案是說要把grown up改為raised ...why?
我原本以為是was的緣故...不過查了一下字典
字典有一例句是這樣
What do you want to be (when you grow up/are grwon up)? 我迷惑了
另外字典寫grown up有"成年的"之意...
到底grow up和raise哪個是"長大了,成年了"? 哪個是指"長大這個動作"?
另外raise和rise差別何在? (書上寫raise是不及物v,rise是及物v...但霧煞煞)
書上的英英解釋
raise: 1. nurture (said of plants,animals,and children)
2. to cause to go up
rise: to go up
