關於表演 About The Performance/
"The usual nexus"是由兩位分別來自古典/當代音樂和爵士/即興實驗音樂背景的越南鋼
琴家Cao Thanh Lan與奧地利薩克斯風/豎笛手Gregor Siedl所創作的聲音裝置展演作品,
它反應了許多概念的雙重性,包括存有與作為之間、人類與機器之間、可見的與不可見的
、程式化的與自然的、刻意的與不經意的表演、直接與不直接的等等。這件作品探究了介
於聲音藝術、音樂與實驗劇場之間的介面,這個特定場域的作品之所以不同於其他表演與
裝置,在於組裝作品的過程即是表演本身,換句話說,這個表演就是作為這件短暫的聲音
裝置作品的整體部份。

透過一系列的連接器及其作動人造物的能量轉變機制在這件作品中扮演重要的角色,例如
燈光的改變創造了伺服馬達的移動,又反過來創造了電子原聲聲響,反之亦然。比起在對
象物中找尋其本質,兩位藝術家更相信本質是在過程中被發現。因此,他們的作品聚焦在
建構、觸發、以及在不同形式的能量或訊號之間轉變及轉譯的過程。完整作品展演時間約
40-45分鐘。

“The usual nexus” reflects on the dualities between being and doing,
between human and machine, the visible and the invisible, being stylized and
being natural, intentional and unintentional performance, being direct and
indirect. “The usual nexus” is a research on the interface between sound
art, music and experimental theatre. This site-specific work is different
from other performances and installations in the way that the process of
installing the artwork is the performance itself, in other words, the
performance is an integral part of the transient sound installation.

The mechanism of energy transformation through a series of connectors (nexus)
and its occurring artefacts plays an important role in the work, e.g. changes
of light create movements of a servo motor and in turn creates
electro-acoustic sounds, and vice versa. The two artists believe in the
philosophy that things are found in the process rather than at the target
itself. Therefore their focus is on the process of constructing, triggering,
transforming and translating one form of energy or signal to the other.

● Gregor Siedl (AT)
Gregor Siedl 生於奧地利維也納,學習古典與爵士薩克斯風演奏,赴比利時皇家音樂院
進修並取得碩士文憑,師從John Ruocco。他曾獲得多項比賽獎項,如:第四十屆根特爵
士音樂節新秀比賽。除傳統爵士樂,他對實驗性音樂、作曲、概念性即興也很感興趣,並
且擴展樂器的可能。此外,他也和舞者、演員、不同領域的藝術家有跨領域的合作演出。
2013 年他曾獲選為EU Project 的一員,由Guillaume Orti主導的European Saxophone
Ensemble,從歐洲各國選出12 名傑出的薩克斯風演奏家,進行合作與歐洲巡演。

Osmosis, Junk Orbit, Auralisation, DOKO, Black Lily, GANG 幾個樂團計畫的成員之
一。近年多次獲得國家機構、文化單位的支持,完成國際性交流計畫及巡演。

Born in Vienna, Austria. He is deeply engaged in the field of experimental
and improvised music. Through his explorations of extended techniques,
preparations on the saxophone, clarinet and the use of extra-musical
instruments such as game-calls and water, he has developed a unique voice in
music.

Gregor won first prizes as best improviser at international music
competitions XL-Jazz and Gent Jazz festival competition. He has been involved
in experimental music, jazz, multi-disciplinary projects with performers,
visual artists and artificial intelligence. He is a band-member of Junk
Orbit, Parallel Asteroid, DOKO, Auralisation Ensemble, Osmosis Project and
critically acclaimed European-Saxophone-Ensemble. He has performed all over
Europe, Asia and South-America at international music festivals and concert
venues, such as: Festival Ankunft Neue Musik Berlin, Festival Internacional
de Musica Experimental Sao Paulo, Shanghai Jazzfestival, Jazz D`Or
Strassbourg, HdKW Berlin, Belgrade Jazz Festival, Vilnius Jazz Festival, Gent
Jazzfestival, Toots Thielemans Jazz Award Brussels, Follow the sound Festival
Antwerpen, Storm!-Festival, LeXGiornate Milan, Gaume Jazz, Porgy&Bess Vienna,

● Cao Thanh Lan (VN)
Cao Thanh Lan來自越南河內,出生於音樂世家,她演奏鋼琴、類比合成器、齊特琴、物
件、電子音樂等,涉獵各類音樂風格廣泛,從古典曲目到現代音樂,跨領域作品展演等,
先於河內國家音樂院完成學業,而後獲政府的全額資助,赴比利時皇家音樂院學習,師事
鋼琴名家Boyan Vodenitcharov、Daniel Blumenthal,隨後又以最高分畢業於科隆音樂院
,並取得現代音樂的演奏碩士,師從Pierre-Laurent Aimard。

她於多項國際比賽獲獎,如:南韓ASIA Intl. Piano Festival and Competition金獎、
National Autumn Competition (Concours d’Automne) 二獎。以獨奏家與室內樂,演奏
足跡遍及南韓、奧地利、德國、瑞士、比利時、羅馬尼亞、荷蘭。曾與多位作曲家工作,
如:George Aperghis、George Benjamin、Peter Ablinger、Philippe Manoury 等,亦
參與歐洲重要音樂節與多位大師學習, Darmstadt Internationale Ferienkurse für
Neue Musik、法蘭克福 Festival Klangspuren、法國巴黎 Festival Ircam、奧地利
Impuls Festival、荷蘭 International Kamermuziek Festival Schiermonnikoog等。

她從演奏大量的現代音樂,轉向對聲音本質與創作更自我的探索。引起越南對於新音樂場
景的關注,並且於實驗音樂與藝術機構DomDom合作,有經常受邀於越南國家的廣播電台及
電視台專訪,將當代音樂介紹給年輕音樂家。

Born 1987 in Hanoi, Vietnam. She works in the fields of contemporary
instrumental and electronic music, sound art and music theatre. She was
trained as a classical contemporary music pianist (with Pierre-Laurent
Aimard) in Cologne and in Brussels Conservatories. She has been experimenting
with analogue and modular synthesizer, amplified objects, prepared
marxophone/zither, low-tech electronics, etc. She is the scholarship holder
of Startstipendium 2018 from Austrian Federal Chancellery. Active as an
experimental sound artist composer in Berlin, Vienna and Cologne in many
different projects, notably the composer-performer Duo Siedl/Cao – in
collaboration with Gregor Siedl, she has been touring and giving workshops
for contemporary music and improvisation in Europe, Japan, Brasil, China,
Taiwan, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Finland, Australia and Vietnam. Her works
have been released on labels Impakt, Flaming Pines, Acefalo Records and
Syrphe. Also active as a guest pianist of Kammerensemble Neue Musik Berlin
(KNM Ensemble), she has performed at Ultraschall Festival, Musica Electronica
Nova Wroclaw, Galeriewanderung Berlin, etc. She has also earned a wide range
of ensemble experience in festivals namely Klangspuren with Ensemble Modern
Frankfurt, Darmstadt Festival for new music, Festival Ircam Paris@Manifest,
Impuls Festival, International Kamermuziek Festival Schiermonnikoog, etc.

● 盧妍婷 YanTing Lu (CN)
1991年生,目前就讀於新竹交通大學聲音與音樂創意科技學程碩士班二年級。 職業貓奴
狗奴,業餘合成器愛好者。做了四年軟體工程師後,覺得還是想做點讓自己覺得活著的東
西,遂來臺學習音樂與聲音科技。喜歡把玩電子音樂軟體,電子音樂新界面,致力於研究
AI風格化作曲。電子音樂作品入圍2017第十三屆國際電腦音樂與音訊技術研討會(WOCMAT
)及2018紐約電子音樂節NYCEMF。

● 張登堯 CHANG Deng-Yao
1984年生於新竹,美國馬里蘭藝術學院藝術創作碩士,2010年回台後持續從事藝術展演、
策劃與推廣至今,並成立江山藝改所藝文空間。自幼學習鋼琴與二胡多年,並參與樂團演
出,聆聽音樂類型廣泛,從古典傳統到前衛實驗,近年開始嘗試以二胡及嗩吶進行自由即
興與噪音演奏。
