1. Jeff Bezos (Amazon.com 創辦人) at Princeton University
"One day you will understand that it's harder to be kind than clever."
2. JK Rowing (哈利波特作者) at Harvard University
"You might never fail on the scale I did. But some failure in life is
inevitable. It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you
live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all. In which
case, you fail by default.”
3. Steve Jobs at Stanford University
"Stay hungry, stay foolish."
"Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t
be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s
thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner
voice. And most importantly, have the courage to follow your heart and
intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.
Everything else is secondary.”
4. Denzel Washington (知名影帝)at the Univ of Pennsylvania
"You never see a U-haul behind a hearse."
(靈車後面絕對不會拖著家當; U-haul是美國人搬家時常會租的卡車)
"Fall forward."
"If you don't fail, you're not even trying."
5. Randy Pausch (名教授,已故)at Carnegie Mellon Univ.
"We don’t beat the reaper (死神) by living longer. We beat the reaper by
living well and living fully. For the reaper is always going to come for all
of us. The question is: What do we do between the time we are born, and the
time he shows up?"
6. Arnold Schwarzenegger (知名演員、加州州長) at Emory University
“You’re going to find naysayers (唱反調者) in every turn that you make. Don
’t listen. Just visualize your goal, know exactly where you want to go.
Trust yourself. Get out there and work like hell. Break some of the rules and
never ever be afraid of failure.
