如果說台灣是另一個中國，澎湖群島可說是另一個台灣。澎湖90個大小島嶼由台北管轄
(譯註：這裡怪怪的，大概外國人搞錯了…)，至少在台灣，是以宜人的景色和「感人的
懷舊情調」聞名，保存了未受污染的台灣傳統文化。走出澎湖縣治馬公市，有牛車、石
滬、菜宅、玄武岩壁，還有祭拜媽祖的古廟，形成島上的特色。如果是喜歡陽光和沙灘
的旅客，這裡的海灘和風浪運動也令人印象深刻。
五到十月，瀕臨絕種的綠蠵龜會在澎湖海灘產卵。每年元宵節（農曆年後14天），根據
習俗，民眾也會以烏龜造形的供品在全島各地寺廟祭拜。
