about後面接to v.

: [2] I went to her house at four o'clock but she was absent.

跟Cloze Test [1]一起看

absent指「某人該在那個地點而不在」

所以句子最後要改成 she wasn't in (her house).

: [3] These people accept to take risks in order to succeed.

accept後面接v-ing

: [4] Where I come from, we are not accustomed to see so many things in the
: shops.

accustome後面接v-ing

: [5] A newspaper can be afforded by most people.
: [6] I want to get my coat back because I can't afford the money for a new one.

afford不能用物品當主詞，後面也不會接money。

正確句子：I can't afford (to buy) a new one.

: [7] The inspector asked to see his ticket, as I had done a few minutes ago.

ago前面要用過去式，不可用完成式。

: [8] All of us didn't want to go to bed.

All後面不接否定。

正確：None of us wanted to go to bed.

: [9] It is not allowed to talk in the library.

allow前面不能用虛主詞

: [10] The man was covered in blood but the woman was allright.
: [11] I hope you are feeling alright now.

all right是兩個字，意思是一切都好

alright = ok

所以[11]沒有錯

: [12] We decided to make alternative arrangements in case the hotel was fully
: booked.

這題正確

: [13] He put the knives altogether in the middle of the table.

all together兩個字

altogether = completely

: [14] The amount of accidents is steadily increasing.

amount後面只能接不可數名詞

: [15] Large amounts of money is required.
^因為它有加s，是複數，所以後面be動詞當然就要用are

A large amount of money 是指「一大筆金錢」
Large amounts of money則是指「金額很大而且是好幾筆的金錢」，例如在說資金之類的

: [16] I'm writing in reply to your letter that I've received two days ago.

把ago改成before
或把完成式改成過去式

of his own accord 出自他個人意願

In 非特定的下午

^就是這裡
also是副詞，所以要放在助動詞後面、動詞前面
