The professor and the article are both discussing the Edmontosaurus
migration hypothesis. However, the speaker on the lecture disagrees with the
ideas in the reading article for several reason. He believes that the
Edmontosaurus did not survived the winter by migrating south to more
hospitable regions.
The first reason why the professor disagrees with the reading is because of
the edmontosaurs's diet. Although the reading claims that the no plants could
grow during the cold and dark North Slope, the man says that the North Slope
was warmer in a million years ago. He also mentions that the sunlight was 24
hour per day. Therefore, the lecturer believes that edomontosaurs's diet did
not prove the migration hypothesis.
Second, the lecturer refutes the reading passage by mentioning the
edomontosaurs lived in herd. Though the article claims that the migratory
animals also live in herds, the man says that there was others reason lived
in herds. He also takes Lasaval Elck for example. Hence, the professor in the
lecture concludes that the edomontosaurs lived in herds do not means that the
migration hypothesis.
The third reason why the professor in the lecture disagrees with the
reading article is related ti the capable of migrating long distance. While
the reading holds that the edomontosaurs could run fast, the man mentions
that onlt the adult edomontosaurs had the locomotive power. He also notes
that the not adult edomontosaurs could slow the herd. Hence, the speaker in
the lecture concludes that the capable of migrating the long do not support
the migration hypothesis.
Finally the lecturer believes disagrees with the points in the reading. He
believes that Edmontosaurus did not survived the winter by migrating south to
more hospitable regions.
