來講一下這個沃爾巴克氏菌對蚊子的實驗好了
首先要介紹蚊子的交尾
蚊子的交尾很特殊的是雌蚊大多一生只交尾一次
少數有交尾兩次，但第二次交尾大多無效
原因是第一次交尾時，雄蚊的副腺會分泌一種叫polypeptide matrone的物質
注入雌蚊的生殖道內，把生殖道封住
之後交尾的雄蚊精子就無法進入，也無法讓雌蚊受精
因此只有第一次交尾的雄蚊精子能讓雌蚊受精
回到沃爾巴克氏菌
這種菌會讓昆蟲精巢無法產生精子
配合上蚊子的交尾特性
也就是說我們只要放出大量遭沃爾巴克氏菌感染的雄蚊
就可以讓大量的雌蚊因為跟這些無精症的雄蚊交尾，無法產下任何受精卵
進而達到削減蚊子數量的結果
不過這是理論上，實際效果如何還是得靠田野實驗才知道
