西嶼鄉所生產的﹁白膜花生﹂已經上市了好一段時間,由於今年初春的雨水並不是很穩定
,造成產量銳減,在初上市時,每台斤的售價維持在新台幣一百二十元的高檔,目前,在
市面上的售價已經滑落到每台斤九十元上下,想品嘗西嶼的白膜花生,正是時候!
根據當地的農民的說法:往常,白膜花生都是趕在年終的十一月底就播種,靠著出春後的
穩定春雨,讓花生得以長得相當的茂盛,花生粒也因春雨的滋潤而長得十分肥美,這是西
嶼鄉生產的白膜花生之所以受到消費者喜愛的地方;但是,今年入春以後,天氣出現異常
,連春雨也降得很少,造成今年的產量不如往年,這也是白膜花生初上市時,售價會飆高
的主因,這兩天,在市面上的售價已經降到了九十元左右。
西嶼的﹁白膜花生﹂之所以好吃的原因,係農民將採收了花生予以洗淨,再以蒸籠來蒸熟
,和一般的民眾用水來滾煮的方式不同,這會讓花生仁不會含有太多的水份,若將蒸好的
花生放入冰箱予以冷凍,在取出品嘗,冰冰涼涼的,別有一番風味
