僅考慮幾何折射效應..
設屈光不正程度為ΔD..
眼軸長度為f..眼內介質折射率為n..瞳孔半徑為r..
因為D = (1/f) ..
對兩邊做偏微分δD = -(n/f^2)*δf
可知視網膜眼底模糊圓半徑與屈光不正關係為
R(refraction) = |r*△f/f|
= |r*f*ΔD/n|
可知模糊圓半徑與屈光不正關係如下圖所示
其中縱軸為模糊圓半徑相對程度..橫軸為屈光不正度數(單位:diopter)

傳統的視光幾何推導皆是建立於此..

設第一繞射極小區域和幾何光線夾角為θ..
光線波長為λ..圓孔半徑為r..
則滿足sinθ = 0.61*λ/r..

可知視網膜眼底模糊圓半徑與屈光不正關係必須修正為為
R(diffraction) = |r*f*ΔD/n| + |0.61*λ*f/r|
可知模糊圓半徑與屈光不正關係如下圖所示
其中縱軸為模糊圓半徑相對程度..橫軸為屈光不正度數(單位:diopter)

由上可看出較小的入瞳孔徑..
在較大的屈光誤差下..可擁有較小的模糊圓半徑..
因此在一定的模糊圓半徑容忍度下..可以擁有較大的景深..
有些老年人瞳孔孔徑相當小..其可以一輩子都不必配戴老花眼鏡而不影響其作息..
然而較小的入瞳孔徑由於繞射效應介入的影響..其最小模糊圓半徑反而會較大..
舉個例來說..如同針孔般直徑1.5mm的瞳孔孔徑的視力最清晰程度..
相當於瞳孔孔徑5mm,屈光不正20度的視力..
