It may be difficult to imagine, but recent evidence strongly suggests that

human activity is a major contribution to global warming. Although long-term

climatic patterns usually track predictable cycles, there is decisive evidence

that the Earth has deviated from these cycles and is now in a phase of intense

warming, unparalleled in the modern era. Data shows that tropical sea

temperatures have increased two degrees Fahrenheit over the past 50 years,

a uniform inclination with the accumulation of atmospheric carbon dioxide.

Petroleum consumption and the identifiable dissolved emissions of carbon

dioxide that it generates are currently the dominant hypothesis for the cause

of global warming. Government ministries must undertake programs that give

incentives towards the reduction of carbon dioxide gases and impose policies

that significantly restrict emissions.


也許令人難以想像，但是最近的證據強烈顯示，人類活動是造成全球暖化的一
個主要原因。雖然長期的氣候型態通常會依循可預期的週期發展，但是卻有明
確的證據顯示當今的地球已經脫離這些週期，現正處於一個空前極速暖化的時
期。資料顯示，在過去五十年間，由於大氣中的二氧化碳不斷地累積，熱帶海
洋的溫度已經增加了華氏兩度。人類大量消耗石油連帶產生許多二氧化碳被分
解排放到大氣中，一般被認為是導致全球暖化的主要原因。政府各部會必須推
動各項計畫，鼓勵減少二氧化碳氣體，並嚴格實施政策，大幅限制碳的排放
量。
