教授的回信 - 留學

最近在聯絡教授時，把自己的proposal摘要寄給他，
希望這位我很感興趣的教授能給我一些proposal上的建議，
但信中並不是很白話的直接問他明年收不收學生。

過了五天終於有回信了（轉圈）
但不是很明白老師的意思，看起來好像有希望又好像是客氣話，
想請各位幫我解惑>"<

以下是全文：
"Thank you for your note and your interest in my research and our graduate
program more broadly. I do anticipate working with graduate students next
year, but you should also note that I am currently serving a term as Associate
Dean for Research and Graduate Programs.

↑為什麼他說完明年的確要收學生以後，又說"but"他現在是負責審核研究生的主任，
是要避嫌嗎？

And, if you haven't already done so,

↑這句是指，如果我還沒申請的話嗎？

you may also want to look at the research interests of several of my colleagues,
especially Traci and Jeff, as they may also be working on issues that are of
interest to you. I look forward to reviewing your application."
