口說一二–如何做好主題發展？by哈佛英文 - 英檢

Hi～大家好，我們是哈佛英文！
上次與大家分享了「如何做好主題發展」的寫作篇
今天則是要針對口說一二題來作分享唷！

在練習口說一二題時，除了把流暢度練順、不要有文法錯誤以外，
主題發展也是相當重要且不可忽視的，這點做好就能讓口說言之有物～

然而，許多同學不知道如何有效發展主題，
對此，哈佛分享一個簡單有效的架構，幫助同學做好主題發展
what → why → so what → story

講完一個點 (what) 之後，不該只停在該點上，應該進一步去討論原因 (why)。
除了原因外，若能再多談該點為什麼重要 (so what 引出的點)。
經過 why 與 so what 的引導，點的發展將比本來更深。
最後，要讓講的點不那麼抽象，講個故事來應證該點，將能夠畫龍點睛。

以此題為例 Some people like having a wide variety of friends and
acquaintances they can spend time with. Others like to spend most of their
free time with the same small group of close friends. Which do you prefer?
Explain why.

what: I prefer spending most of my free time with the same small group of
close friends

why: because close friends would support me in my lowest low but
acquaintances wouldn’t

so what: It matters because without the kind of support, I would not be able
to get through tough times.

story: For example, when I was in high school, my dearest puppy was hit by a
car. I was extremely depressed because of that. Even though I had more than
2000 friends on Facebook at that time, no one truly cared, but on the other
hand some of my closest friends comforted me. With the emotional support from
them, I was able to get back up again. Through the experience, I realized the
importance of having deep relationships. Thus, I prefer spending free time
with close friends.
