【口說】托福口說怎麼清楚易懂？Cut to the chase!

本篇口說文章，希望能讓讀者認知的是講話精簡有力的重要性。針對托福 Task 1，最需要動腦想點、練習流暢度的獨立題型，跟大家做分析。

首先，必須先澄清的是，講話有重點有邏輯，簡短又清楚，是非常需要練習的。或許你平常連講中文都是繞一大圈才講到重點，更何況是轉到不熟悉的英語情境下。

因此，這個技巧務必以持續的經驗累積作為基礎，把實力提升起來。當然講成好的答案包含其他的因素（發音、詞彙量、想點），今天先探討內容精簡的部分。

“Cut to the chase”
How to stop rambling? —>Get to the point.
Skip the unnecessary context and tell me your objective.

答案揭曉：就是先講你的原因。

聽起來很簡單，但其實很多同學往往第一句就開始鋪陳很多不是重點的資訊，就會讓聽者找不到你講話的重點。

3. 重申一遍 - 統整、換句話說

我們利用範例來跟大家解釋：

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement.

The best way to learn about the culture of a country is to watch its TV programs.

Stance: Agree.

錯誤範例：

筆記：
A lot of shows.
Ex, Japan —> anime —> culture.

論點：
The television has a lot of programs to choose from and it is a great way to learn.
I personally learned a lot about Japan. The anime I watch are so much fun and I really enjoy it. The language they use are also in Japanese, so it helps me learn about their culture.
I have also found out that Japanese people are very polite, it is part of the values they have in their country.
I learned about the culture from these programs.

修正過的範例：

筆記：
Content —> diversity
Ex, Japanese anime —> clubs.

論點：
You can learn about the culture of a society through television context, especially since they provide a lot of diverse content.
For example, I learned a lot about the typical high school life of a Japanese student through its anime. I did not know that they put such emphasis on their after school clubs!
Through the stories and plot lines of these anime, I gained info on Japan’s culture of which it is based on.

範例解析：
- 這邊改過的範例整體邏輯環環相扣。
- 先講看電視「可以」從不同的題材學到多樣化。而不是看電視「有」很多不同的節目可以學習。
- 接下來舉例，每個細節都是最精簡的內容。不用特別提到你很喜歡看動漫，而是點出動漫如何讓你更了解一個國家的文化。
- 最後小結，務必換句話說，把論點做統整。因為托福口說第一題15秒準備時間筆記不會太多，所以切忌一直講一樣的字。learn —>gained info, programs —> stories/ plot lines.
