1. Describe an activity that you enjoy doing together with your family and
explain why. Please include specific examples and details in your explanation.

The main activity that I enjoy doing with my family is cooking.

Because my dad works in China so when he comes back home, we usually
celebrate it by having a great meal. We cook traditional dishes like hotpot
and chicken soup on these specially occasions.

Besides, cooking is a communal activity. Normally my father does the
shopping, I prepare the ingredients, and my mom cooks the food. Then, we all
savor our efforts by eating the delicious food together. At the end of the
meal, we also wash the dishes, so we all contribute in some way. That’s why
I enjoy doing it with my family. It’s a great family time.


2. Some people think that playing video games is not a good way to use time.
Others disagree. What is your opinion and why? Please include reasons and
details in your response.

I think playing video games is a waste of time.
Actually, not only playing video games, but watching TV and texting friends
by using electronic devices are all bad to us and here are my reasons.

Firstly, spending too much time on screen is harmful to our health. When we
are playing video games, we sit on couch or lie in bed for hours, instead of
doing any physical activities. Lack of exercising leads to increase our body
fat over time. Not to mention, watching screen for hours hurts our eyesight.

Secondly, playing video games could be fun and thrilling but many video games
that involve war, violence, and murder can make you more aggressive and less
sympathetic toward other people. I don’t think that’s a good way to relax
